more gems emerging every day, almost

in doing my regular rounds of the internet, checking if any new videos have appeared with r-g, i found this one. a bizarre situation where robbe-grillet's famous gift for oration is slaughtered by the necessity of stopping after almost every sentence. i think he just wanted to get double the laughs as the french speakers understand then the english speakers catch up and laugh to. there’s waves of amusement and eventually everybody's happy together! the best thing tho’ is that it really does seem as though robbe-grillet can speak english but refuses to, and so he should! i mean they might misquote him. we see him listening attentively to make sure it's translated 'correctly'. robbe-grillet, master as always! it all makes for a wonderfully amusing video. especially when question time begins and we see people leaving, and when towards the end all of a sudden robbe-grillet doesn't understand the questions.

and in this video, robbe-grillet talks 'deleuze', which he thankfully tells everybody is a french philosopher, just for those of us who don't know. the concept he talks about is, of course, the same one that he has explained elsewhere.
