book covers

a new shipment of books has arrived in my sweet little hands. hurrah! and three cheers for amazon.fr postal service. they arrived within 8 days of ordering. which seems pretty amazing to me.
but the most interesting thing about the books, superficially, has to be their covers. who chooses these covers for gallimard's folio editions? why do all of milan kundera's books have cubist artworks for their covers? it's soit picasso, soit braques.
and an even more interesting question poses itself: why braques for the theoretical works, l'art du roman, le rideau, and les testaments trahis, and picasso for the works of fiction?

(note that the amazon.fr pictures are not one hundred percent correct. l'insoutenable légèreté de l’être for example is now a picasso, 'nature morte avec fruits et crâne')

Yeah, I think it's completely random. But at least they're not Magritte covers: cliche, bonjour. . . For Kundera they should really have some deeply misogynist porn overlaid with a score by Mozart. But hey, you gotta love the guy.
Oh and I'll write you! Really soon. Sorry.
